The initial 2015 value of $700,000 was deposited to a GIC until such time that a Nookmis Investment Policy was created to guide the terms of the investment. To date, despite best efforts, there has been little feedback from community engagement – next steps are to meet with the Investment Mgr. responsible for Niigaaning and determine three scenarios for Nookmis. In 2015, GIC interests earned was $4,666.18 and the Nookmis Committee. has recommended an addition $300,000 in 2016 allocation to bring the value of the Nookmis Investment to $1,004,666.18.
